Mat Certification Program
he A Pilates Studio® Mat Certification process consists of two phases: academic study through the System Workshops and experiential training through the Apprenticeship Program. Any individual who meets the entry requirements may start the Program at any time.
This program is a comprehensive study in movement relating to the mat pilates work of Joseph Pilates. The mat pilates repertorie consists of more than 500 systematic mat and small equipment-based exercises, including unique preparatory, essential, intermediate and advanced level workouts, as well as balanced exercise sequences and modifications to address special populations.
We will be covering the basic principles refer to a series of biomechanical body awareness issues that provide the basis for the exercises in the technique. Rather than being seperate or discrete, the five principles - breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, scapular movement and stabilization and head and cervical placement - work together to create a safe and effective pilates program.
